06/01/2014: OnCall ALS Ambulance (0300-2200)/ Fire Calls

Picked up a few hours tomorrow morning before my two shifts on Sunday, hoping for a slow night and a busy day!

Well, it was a very busy night with a large structure fire. House was hit by lightning and reported by passerby. The house wasn't occupied at the time of fire, and four dogs were rescued by first arriving police officers:

We also ran a false trip fire alarm at a local Clinic a half-hour after we cleared the fire at 0400 and a false trip fire alarm at a local business at 0600.

We then ran a medical minutes after that fire alarm:
0630 Medical Alarm: Call back reports elderly female with Chest Pain, similar to pain before when they had fluid buildup. Patient transported Code 2, 12 Lead EKG, Vitals, and IV.

At about 1100 we were dispatched to a gas leak, possible overnight lightning strike. Duty Officer arrived with gas company and told units to standby at station. Nearby tree was struck and transferred into the gas main in house.
